The L.P. Vaughn Elementary Middle School of the Natchitoches Parish School District will host a “Live & Silent Auction” on Tuesday, November 18th, 2014 from 5:30 – 7:30 P.M.
The school has lofty goals: $4,000.00 challenge goal, $6,500.00 victory goal, and an $8,000.00 - $10,000.00 HALLELUJAH GOAL.
The money raised will go toward giving scholarships to students to take classes in an after school “School of Fine Arts” beginning in January 2015.
In order to reach this goal, event planners recognize they must have large items tot auction, including car(s), RV’s, four wheelers, golf carts, appliances, and furniture sets. If anyone would like to donate these items as a tax write off, please call 985-590-9055.
Event planner and coordinator, Danny Von Kanel, says, “We recognize our reaching these goals are improbable but not impossible. At present, we do not have any large items but hope to secure some in coming weeks. Our students deserve to have the opportunity to take fine art classes. Though scholarships will be available to L.P. Vaughn students based on the amount of money raised, all students in Natchitoches Parish will be allowed to take the classes. The purpose of the classes is:
▪ To provide music and fine art training beyond the regular classroom
▪ To give students to opportunity to explore further their interest and gifts.
▪ To highlight L.P. Vaughn in the community.
This is a challenging project but one that can impact Natchitoches students. Von Kanel goes on to say, “Businesses so far have been wonderful. We have yet to have a single business say no to donate something. All businesses will be publicaly recognized at the auction and through news releases.”
A professional auctioneer, Gill Solomon, will lead the live auction. A silent auction will also be held. The event will be held at the L.P. Vaughn Elementary Middle School on 1500 Gold Street in Natchitoches, Louisiana in their multi-purpose gym. An event page on Facebook has been set up at https://www.facebook.com/events/723811661040960/?ref_dashboard_filter=upcoming
L.P. Vaughn School principals are Sandy Irchirl, Middle School, and Angela Cole, Elementary. The public is cordially invited to attend. Serious bidders are welcomed.
